I got a file from a client that is cmd.exe. The customer claims that it is a spec file. I think it's strange. But in the end, my curiosity got too much. After clicking, of course I didn't get any files. But my computer will automatically run CMD and run the code and quickly shut itself down. I tried scanning for viruses and couldn't find them, but I thought they probably didn't find them in the first place. I thought it was MALWARE. I copied it many times and just succeeded today. I don't know anything about code. Please help me take a look.ERROR: The process "chrome.exe" not found.SUCC

internet connection problem- help

If the desktop downstairs is running XP Pro as well,I would check all the setting on it are the same as on yours.

Start in Network Connections and check everything step by step.

If you goto Start >> Run and type CMD

Then type- ping (your router ie:192.168.1.1)

are you able to ping your router?

 

UNWANTED auto-connection to WLAN

Thank you for your suggestions, and apologies for my delay in replying. Poor health.

I have tried each of the suggested solutions, but still do not have the wanted result.

• WLAN connection deleted and reconfigured. While the WLAN was absent, the provider internet connection began self-connection just as the WLAN had done.
  • On reconfiguring the WLAN, both it and the provider internet connection began self-connecting.
• On re-setting the factory settings, as soon as boot completed, internet connection was requested. On dismissal of request, WLAN self-connected as before.

It would seem that something really wants to get out onto the web, or maybe the 'phone is just 'phoning home.

Please help.

Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow these steps and try to run the Internet connections troubleshooter:

• Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.
• Click on Control panel.
• Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Control panel
  search box.
• Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all.
• Click on Internet Connections troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2:

I would suggest you to use these commands to repair Windows:

• Open an Administrator CMD window. If you can’t find a way, use these steps:
  
• Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task Manager.
• Click File > Run New Task
• Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  
• Type CMD
• Type the following commands at the CMD prompt:
  
  dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  
  sfc /scannnow

Let us know the results.
