Windows 10: USB 3.0 not showing up on my brand new computer with Windows 11

My USB works fine on a Windows 10 computer, but does not show up in File Exploer on a Windows 11 computer

I have a Kingston USB 2.0, which works properly on a Windows 10 computer (shows up in File explorer, can edit...etc). However, when I plug it into a Windows 11 computer, it does not show up in File Explorer, but does appear in Device Manager and Disk Manager. I have done all of the steps from:

• deleting and reinstalling the drives
  
• ensuring Windows 11 is up to date
  
• power management settings
  
• Root Hub properties
  
• Run SFC and DISM Scan
  
• Yes, all of the Windows 11 ports work with other usb, including other Kingston 2.0 usb.
  

In addition, when in Disk Manager, I am unable to assign a letter to the USB. I keep getting the error message that the Disk manager view is not up to date, but no matter how many times I refresh Disk Manager and restart the PC, I can't assign a new letter, nor can I format the USB. It's as if it's been completely locked out of the Windows 11 computer.

Any thoughts?

 

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

Method 2.

Try updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click
Device Manager.

b. Expand the USB driver.

c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.
