Windows 10: usb 3.0 ports not getting power

Product: HP Z820 Base Model Workstation Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 64-BitAll USB 3.0 ports are not working both rear and front since replacing my motherboard. I doubt it is hardware related because it is affecting all USB 3.0 ports only. I have tried reinstalling the chipset drivers from the HP website, disabling from the Device Manager and restarting, and resetting BIOS to factory defaults. None of these worked even after restarting. I have made sure that the USB drive I am testing with is working on other Windows 10 machines with USB 3.0 ports. The USB drive is g

If your USB does not work after you plug it in, it’s probably because of one of the following causes:

• Windows can’t find a driver for the USB device.
• Windows doesn't recognize the USB device.
• There's a problem with the device
• The driver for the device is faulty
• The device isn't getting enough power
• The USB port is defective

Suggest you to check and install all latest and compatible windows 10 drivers from Manufacture's website for your device. Most probably it will fix the issue.

You can check the driver status under General tab, in device Manager. If you suspect that a driver is faulty, contact the manufacturer.

Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.
