Windows 10: USB 3.0 Ports work but USB 2.0 do not

I have a PC based on a ASUS motherboard. It has four USB 2.0 & two USB 3.0 ports attached to the motherboard rear panel access and one each USB2 and USB3 wired to the front panel from the M/B. All ports work when operating under the BIOS using mouse, keyboard and USB flash memory. The USB 3.0 ports - back and front - also work in Win 10. However, the USB 2.0 ports back and front all stop working when Windows 10 starts - altho' they are still powered, as tested with a USB-powered LED lamp. What have I done so far? Windows 10 is up-to-date according to Settings. I have flashed the BIOS with the latest ASUS-recommended version. I have used DriverEasy Pro and Device Manager which both say all drivers are current. Although, they report different providers Intel vs Microsoft and different versions numbering for two drivers in the USB Controllers group - namely for Intel 7 series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controllers – 1E26 and 1E2D. These two Controllers also have an Alert symbol on their respective icons in the Device Manager list. Many online questions about similar issues recommend Devices and Hardware Troubleshooter. Unfortunately, it isn't available and even the CMD route isn't supported in my version of Win10, it seems. I don't know what else I can add. Any ideas?

USB 3 Ports not working

Hi folks,
i was trying to copy some files from an external drive using the usb 3 port on my M/B but it doesnt work, i downloaded the drivers from the Manufacturers website but no luck either, am i missing an important step here? i havent checked the Bios yet

Ok, my question is in first auto detect my ports are listed 3-4- and 6
in the intel matrix storage ports are listed 2-3- and 5 ??? is this my problem and if so how did this happen .
