Windows 10: USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller does not detect USB2.0 devices

Hi,


i bought a new notebook with one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 Port. All my USB 2.0 devices are not working on the USB 3.0 Port - usb-sticks, external HDDs, HID Devices, etc.


I got AMD USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller installed... so the problem must be there. It is the current one, i already checked this. also the chipset drivers are the current ones.


The following are the tested situations:


USB-Mouse 1 - does not work on 3.0 Port - works on 2.0 Port

USB-Maus 2 - does not work on 3.0 Port - works on 2.0 Port

USB-Tastatur - does not 3.0 Port - works on 2.0 Port

USB 3.0 Stick - works on 3.0 Port - works on 2.0 Port

external USB 2.0 HDD - does not work on 3.0 Port with USB 3.0 Hub - works on 2.0 Port with Hub this is not recommended, because only one USB 2.0 port does not offer enough power

My Lenovo G510 has 2 USB-3 ports. Updated windows 10 have changed USB Controller driver to 1.0 (Microsoft) resulting my USB 3 speed is not more than USB2.

My device is Intel (R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (C220/C610) and windows does not allow to change driver even for testing purpose from Intel support site (Windows has determined that the best device driver already has been installed.) Any idea to
make my USB3 working as USB3. Tanks in advance.

Follow the Methods below.

Method 1: Run power troubleshooter.

a. Press Windows +R key on the keyboard.

b. Type troubleshooting in the pop-up box and press Enter.

c. Click System and Security on left panel.

d. Click Power, new window will popup.

e. Follow the on screen instructions.

Method 3: Compatibility mode

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
