Windows 10: USB 3.1 version 2 cables and performance

Will a USB 3.1 version 2 device run at maximum efficiency using a USB 3.0 cable? I have read that USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 version 1 can use the same cable but I can't find any information relating to USB 3.1 version 2.

Also, will there be any performance increase with a standard SATA hard drive using USB 3.1 version 2 over USB 3.0? Is the SATA drive fast enough to take advantage of the of the new USB 3.1 version 2 speed?

Disconnecting usb cable from N70

You could also try these steps before unplugging your usb cable from your pc:

1. click the safely remove hardware (green arrow pointing down) found on the right portion of the taskbar.

2. select the usb cable

3. then click stop (once you click stop, it informs you that you could now safely remove your usb cable from your pc.)

As for unhooking your N70 from the usb cable, the suggestion from previous messages is the best way which is by gently bending it downwards.

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

 

Cable Management Helpdesk

Step 1: the one cable going towards your front bays. Tuck is through the top hole shown on pic 2 and reroute it back through the side of the 5.25" bays where you need it.

Step 2: figure out which cables can be eliminated and stuff them through the top hole as well.

Step 3: in order to keep your cabling in 1 place, you could move the HDD's upwards. Reroute the power cables for it like you did with the one in step 1.

Step 4: see if you can route the 24-pin cable in straight lines: From PSU to the front, make a curve inside the 5.25" bays and straight back to the socket on the mobo.

Step 5: front panel (usb) cables. From the front panel, route them through the 5.25" bays out sideways toward the right (seen from the front) and stick them back in the small hole on the bottom. If possible, see if you can even get them through the big lower hole behind the mobo.

Step 6 is a bit personal, but I tend to refrain from tying up bunches of PSU cables. Makes it look like a big knot imho.
