Windows 10: USB\ASMEDIAROOT_Hub UNKNOWN DRIVERS

Hello,I need your help.I have two unknown drivers in my device manager. When I look at the hardware ID numbers I have: " USB\ASMEDIAROOT_Hub&VID1B21&PID2142&VER01166101 " .I can't find it on my pc so I looked everywhere on the internet and i cant find it. Do you know where I can find it and download it? To install it manually. I alreadu update ma MB and Chipset but it doesn't repair my device.Thanks in advance.

Hi,

My Windows 7 (Home Premium) 64 bit laptop has a USB device showing as “Unknown Device” under “Other devices” in Device Manager. The Hardware Ids for the device are shown as:

USB\ASMEDIAROOT_Hub&VID1B21&PID1042&VER01164901

USB\ASMEDIAROOT_Hub&VID1B21&PID1042

USB\ASMEDIAROOT_Hub



I have tried the following approaches to fixing it, without success:

- Running Windows Update;

- Uninstalling the device and all other USB devices, switching off and then restarting the laptop and letting Windows install the drivers again (twice);

- Running the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter;

- Downloading all USB drivers available from the laptop’s manufacturer for the relevant laptop model and loading these drivers via Device Manager’s “Browse my computer for driver software” function.



Any suggestions for other things to try to fix this problem would be appreciated.

In most cases, this issue can be caused by either an unstable/ corrupt USB controller or your computer's drivers need to be updated.

For us to isolate the possibilities, we suggest that you perform the following troubleshooting steps in succeeding order:

• Connect your USB drive to a different port. Alternatively, try to connect it to a different PC.
• Connect a different USB drive to your PC.
• Unplug your USB drive and restart your system. Afterwards, plug it in and see if it works. If the same issue occurs, perform a complete shutdown and wait for a few minutes before turning it on again.
  
• Update your drivers.

If you find that the USB drive still doesn't work even after performing all these suggestions, this is most likely pointing to a hardware issue. Thus, it would be best to get in touch with your device manufacturer for a thorough check of the device.
