Windows 10: USB audio device RODE AI-1 powering off when no audio is being sent to it makes it wake up...

Since the latest Win 11 update or the one before it my external audio device RODE AI-1 keeps shutting off. Sending audio to it makes it start up again.I am using the latest drivers. There is a page on this on their website Link The suggested fix: set “USB selective suspend setting” to “Disabled”, does not fix this. Audio stuttering after wake

Knowing that you have problems with your audio after waking up from sleep, you can try the following suggestions:



1. Check for Hardware Conflicts:

• Open Device Manager.
  
• Expand the “System devices” category.
  
• Look for any devices with yellow exclamation marks or error messages.
  
• If you find any conflicts, try disabling or uninstalling the conflicting devices.
  

2. Test with External Audio Device:

• Connect an external audio device, such as headphones or speakers, to the computer.
  
• If the audio stuttering persists, it suggests a problem with the Realtek audio device or its drivers.
  

3. Disable Audio Enhancements:

• Go to Control Panel > Sound.
  
• Select the Realtek audio device as the playback device.
  
• Click on the “Properties” button.
  
• Go to the “Enhancements” tab.
  
• Uncheck all the enhancement options.

Audio device unrecognised after waking from sleep


From time to time I wake my laptop from sleep and find that the audio driver (Conexant Venice) is no longer loaded. The audio hardware is listed in the Device Manager as just "base system device" (or two base system devices, to be precise). Rebooting fixes the problem each time, but it takes a while. Is there a quicker way to make the audio work again than rebooting? I've tried obvious steps like running the troubleshooter and disabling and then re-enabling the devices.

It is possible that the driver of your USB audio device is outdated. Sometimes Windows Update might not have the latest drivers. We suggest that you visit the device manufacturer for the latest drivers of your USB audio device. You can also try to use different
cables or ports and connect it using a powered USB port just to make sure it is not a faulty hardware.
