USB Audio has tinny sound to it

    Hi

So I have an HP Omen laptop and as with alot of laptop the headphone audio jack stinks. Jiggle it even slightly and the audio cuts in and out.

So last week my brother suggested looking at a pair of USB headphones and I have a hard tie finding right size fitting headphones so I thought what about a USB audio jack.

So I went out looking and this is the jack I got

So I got the jack today and plugged it in and it works fine the headphones no long cut in and out. Got my built in mic working also for in game purposes.

Anyways at first I was so glad being I did not have to mess with the jack any more but as the afternoon worn on I noticed that the sound quality well it was quite bad actually. Has a very tinny sound to it.

Is there any way to adjust the audio levels in Windows for tone and base and all that or not?

Or is there a way to make the USB adapter use my built in audio which is great for in game.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks
    Dave

    :)

sound distorted after windows 10 anniversary upgrade

This is where I'm at on my HP laptop with Windows 10 and the Anniversary update.

I completed step #3 "hardware and sound" but that took me to an option for "sound, speakers." There was no "properties" as step #4 suggests. I selected "sound, speakers" and then found "properties." After selecting "properties" there was no "enhancements
    tab" as step #5 suggests.

Regardless, I then uninstalled the realtek audio driver. I noticed that when I did this without restarting my laptop that the sound was now tinny, but not distorted as it was previously. After restarting, the sound was again full, yet distorted.

Realtek still shows in my programs list, though it shows no memory is used.

    Thanks for your continued help.

    Tinny audio

I have a brand new MSI gl62 that came with windows 10. I have been impressed and happy with both the laptop and windows 10, but after a windows update last night, the audio quality is now tinny, screeching, and inconsistent. Two days ago the sound from my
laptop's speakers was crystal clear, but now games, music and movies are unplayable with this audio.

I have tried updating, disabling, and re-enabling all audio-related drivers. Some of these changed the sound slightly, but did not solve the problem.

I've tried using headphones, but the sound from the output is also affected by the same issue.

I've tried rebooting after each solution I tried, then tried restoring all defaults. None of this helped.

I wanted to revert back to the previous build before the update yesterday, but since I've only had the computer for a week it said I had no previous builds to revert to.

What is interesting is that when I go into the "sound" control panel and test play all the sound themes, they all seem unaffected by the audio issue. They sound like the crystal clear audio that I expect from my new laptop. However, when I try to test play
the speakers or listen to any program that produces music or sound of any kind, the problem remains.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Windows 10 - Audio sounds tinny when headphones are plugged in

I figured the above and it works until you close the audio program that you are using, then you have to go back and toggle the enhancement button again. However the minute you disconnect from the audi program you have to do the same... It is keeping
the Enhancement button off, however it goes back to tinny sound again...
