Randomly my computers USB slots will stop working. I have gone into Bios mode and checked all the USB settings available and can't seem to foind a fix. Only way around it is to keep restarting my computer.

Keyboard keys only stop working after a while, KVM switch and USB-C hub

    Hi Nicolas,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It seems like you've already done some troubleshooting, and the issue may indeed be related to the USB-C dock or the setup with multiple adapters. There could be a few things causing your keyboard to stop working intermittently when connected through the KVM switch and USB-C hub:

    - Power issue: The USB-C hub may not be providing consistent power to the keyboard, especially if you have multiple peripherals connected. Try connecting just the keyboard directly to the laptop's USB port and see if the issue persists.

    - Bandwidth issue: With the keyboard, mouse, display, and any other peripherals going through the KVM and USB-C hub, there may be bandwidth constraints leading to dropped inputs. Try reducing the number of peripherals connected.

    - Faulty hardware: One of the devices in the chain - the KVM, USB-C hub, cables etc - may be defective. Try swapping out components one by one to isolate the problem.

    - Driver conflict: Outdated or buggy drivers, especially for the USB-C hub, could be the culprit. Update drivers and firmware for the hub and other devices.

If possible, test the same setup on another laptop to see if the issue is specific to your work laptop. This can help determine if the problem is related to the laptop or the peripherals.

If the issue persists, contact the manufacturers' support teams for the KVM switch, USB-C dock. They may be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or offer a solution based on known issues with their products.

I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
