Windows 10: usb-c display port problem on dell precision 5680

I have a dell precision 5680 that I am trying to set up with my two monitors. I have a docking station that has worked and allows me to plug in to any of the three USB-C ports on the laptop. The problem I am having is that I can only get a display on my monitors using one of the usb-c ports, it doesn't work for the other two. I don't understand why this would cause a difference as all 3 ports are the same and should all work equally. I should note that one was working and has since stopped working. What can I do to get the other 2 usb-c ports to work?

USB-C to Display port

Do all USB-C ports support display port? I am thinking of picking up a cheap laptop but want to be able to connect two additional displays if needed. The laptop has an HDMI and a USB-C Gen 1. Ace Aspire R R5. thanks

 

Dell Monitor not displaying over USB-C to VGA dongle

Hi all I am wanting to revive some use from my old Dell E2009W Monitor. The monitor only support VGA and/or DVI-D. I am currently trying to connect it to my PC, which only supports the modern display ports, HDMI and DisplayPort. So I have a USB-C to VGA dongle plugged into the PC and VGA into a cable connected to the monitor but nothing displays. However Windows gives a notification: Display connection might be limited, make sure the DisplayPort device connection is supported by your PC... I am unsure how to check this, but I assume my USB-C port is not display capable? The USB-C port standard is Rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C​ If my assumption is correct, is there any suggestions for an alternative way to get the monitor display working? Cheers
