Windows 10: USB-C dock will reconnect monitor but not USB mouse and keyboard without reboot

This is an error I have experienced on multiple laptops and with multiple brands of docks and I can't seem to find a solution but maybe someone here knows one.After a fresh reboot of my laptop I plug it into my USB-C dock the dock is connected to a monitor with HDMI, mouse and keyboard With USB, headphones 1/8" jackAll things work fine. Laptop charges through dock.I unplug the laptop and work remote.I replug the laptop into the dock.-monitor works fine-mouse, keyboard, headphones do not reconnect.-if I plug a flash drive into the dock it reads it.-laptop still charges through dockreboot ever

USB-C Dock Intermittent USB Mouse and Keyboard Issues

I'm having a weird issue that I'm hoping someone else has seen before. I have 2 different USB-C docking stations with 2 monitors, a mouse, and keyboard plugged into them. Randomly, the mouse and keyboard will stop working for a very short time and then start working again. The keyboard either cuts out completely or writes 7-20 of the last character I typed. Sometimes it will happen multiple times an hour, and sometimes I can go weeks without having the issue.

I've ruled out the dock, mouse, and keyboard since I have tried 2 different sets with different cables and the problems persist (while on my other laptop it works fine). I have tried different mice and keyboards and the problem persists then also. The issue has happened for about the last year (dock was purchased 2 years ago and had no issues before this).

I've seen suggestions to make sure that the USB Hub drivers are set to not go to sleep. That did not fix my issue.

This leads me to believe that it is something related to the Windows drivers for the USB-C docks. Both docks are driverless, so default Windows ones are used I think. I've tried uninstalling, disabling, and reactivating the drivers and nothing seems to fix it. Has anybody else seen this issue before and have any ideas on how to fix it?

USB-C Dock Intermittent USB Mouse and Keyboard Issues

Observing the same behavior on my Yoga 7i, Windows 11. The above solutions did not work for me either.

I am led to believe that the issue lies with the USB-C port multiplexing two HDMI outputs and my mouse/keyboard. When I have only a USB-C hub connected to my computer's USB-C port, the keyboard and mouse work very smoothly with no issue.

The issue also persists when one of my USB-C ports is only connected to the keyboard, but the other USB-C port drives my two monitors. This is a long shot, but the issue might perhaps lie with the HDMI drivers instead?
