Windows 10: USB-C ports work oddly

Hi all,I've had a new Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16AHP9 laptop for 3 months. I have a hub with 2 HDMI ports, 1 Ethernet port and 3 USB ports, 1 of which is USB-C.When I connect my hub via one of the 2 USB-C ports on my computer, the Ethernet and USB ports are detected and work correctly, except for the HDMI ports. The HDMI ports worked when the computer was received.When I try to connect an SSD via these USB-C ports, it is not detected, whereas the SSD is detected from the other USB ports or if it is connected to one of the Hub's USB ports.Why is this? Is it a hardware problem? Thanks in adavnce.Nic

USB-C headphones work on regular usb port, but no longer work on USB C port.

The USB C port charges my headphones, but will not detect them, even though they were working a little bit ago.

The headphones are detected using a regular USB cable to USB-C.

Here's some steps I've tried to troubleshoot:

Update windows

Uninstall drivers with yellow exclamation point in device manager

Uninstall USB root hub

Restart computer

Not sure how to fix this.

USB port not working

I have an HP Pavilion dv6604nr laptop. I have 3 USB ports, 2 located on the left side and one located on the right side near the power supply port. For some reason, one of the USB ports on the left hand side will not recognize anything that is plugged
into it. I have done all the steps and suggestions that is posted on this site, and still can't get it to work. The message I get is "The last USB device that was connected has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." It shows in the Device Manager
as Unknown USB Device(Port Reset Failed). When I have a USB device plugged into the non-working port, it shows up in the Devices and Printers folder, but the device does not work. I am at my wits end. Can anyone help me or suggest any other things to try?
Oh, I am running Windows 10 pro.
