  1. USB COM device showing as LibUSB device

I have a GW Instek programmable power supply that registers itself as a USB COM port when connected via USB to a Windows 10 machine. However, when I connect the same PSU to a windows 11 machine, it appears as a Libusb device:I've tried uninstalling the device, I've uninstalled various driver packages that mention libusb or WinUSB, and I've tried updating the driver using Windows Update. What else can I try to get the windows 11 computer to communicate with the PSU?

    :)

  2. Communicate between Windows C++ Application and Android Device, Via USB

I need to communicate (via USB) between c/c++ application on Windows 10, and, an android device (Device ModelUSB COM device showing as LibUSB device :pAX A910, android version: 7.0).

MSDN suggested two approaches on windows side.

    • UWP app: It needs a manifest file that keeps on showing an unending chain of errors.
    • WINUSB functions: The example programs available did not detect my device, as per input asked which was class GUID.
    • LibUSB: The open source Libusb detected the device based on input VendorIDUSB COM device showing as LibUSB device :productID.
    • The device is detected when USB configuration on device is "adb" and is not if it is "MTP". May be that should not be an issue?
    • The device is restricted to enable Developer mode, so i can not enable USB debugging, though We can install new apps on device.
From the example programs, I was able to download Device descriptor and list of 5 interfaces. But other than interface 0, example programs are failing to claim all other interfaces.

    • On windows side what else i am missing?
    • What kind of development needs to be done on Android side?

  3. My laptop is not showing other devices or unknown devices

    Hi,

My name is Angel. I am an Independent Advisor. Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Some devices might be listed under hidden devices in Device Manager, I suggest you to open Device Manager then click on View option and click on Show hidden devices. Once it is done, check whether you can find the device.

As an initial step of troubleshooting, I suggest you to try connecting the device with other USB ports and check if it is detected (If you are connecting through USB).

Also, try updating the USB drivers and check if it helps. Follow the below steps.

    -Open Device Manager.

-Find and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

-Right-click on each driver listed and click on Update Driver Software

-Restart the system after updating the drivers.

-Try connecting the device and check if the issue still persists.

Hope the information provided is useful. If the issue persists, reply here and we will be glad to help you.

    Angel.

USB COM device showing as LibUSB device

[SOLVED] Windows 8.1 Not Detecting USB Devices

It is possible you may need to run VIAO update, after your upgrade to 8.1, to check for new drivers and patches.

Edit: Also, have you gone to device manager and check the item in the menu "show hidden devices".
See if their are any problems, uninstall any usb devices, and their associated listings in the other sections of the device manager that should not be there.

If need be... try GhostBuster to remove any ghosted devices you need/want gone.

You may need to do a refresh of Windows 8.1 as a last resort.
