Windows 10: USB deleted a folder during scan fix

so I looked this up already but I just want a second opinion, I moved a folder of photos and videos to an old USB I had I'm pretty sure it always asked me to Scan and Fix when I put it on but maybe it didn't, I would occasionally use it or even leave it in my PC but it was only for that folder, it also had old folders but I never used them and they barely had things, eventually when I plugged it in one day I decided to Scan and Fix and when I went into the USB after the folder was just gone, all my other old folders where there just not the new one, I maybe had it in there for two or three weeks, I thought it was stolen but I realized that it couldn't have happened while it was unplugged and also if it was it wouldn't have deleted the folder so I started to look things up and it said that there were reported cases of Scan and Fix deleting folders that are completely fine, what do you think that it was, was it stolen or something was wrong with it or was it just a result of Scan and Fix accidentally deleting them, I'm not worried about recovering these photos and videos because they weren't that important to me but I'm still paranoid so if you could let me know what the cause of the folder being deleted was that would be great, also I would just like to add that I got this USB like 4 to 6 years ago at a summer course for some computer thing and it doesn't have a brand on it and everyone got one so I assume it wasn't the best quality

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

 

Trouble deleting a folder

Download norton commander for windows and try it. I`m using it for deleting those autorun.inf virus files that stuck to the USB drives or second non system partition. If no file is used from windows folder NC should erase it easy. And there is Hiren`s boot disk that you can download it is bootable and has volkov commander on it similar to NC and it runs in DOS and it will delete windows folder 100%. Or you can make USB stick bootable and use deltree command.
