Windows 10: "USB device not recognised" keeps popping up regargless of if a usb is plugged in

I repeated get a popup saying device not recognised error code 43 when I go into device manager regardless of if devices are plugged in. A bit later it makes a disconnect sound, and the device disappears from device manager. All devices I do plug in work fine. This started about a week ago. The only USB devices I use are a webcam and a mouse also bluetooth headphones and I've been using them all for at least half a year with no problems. How do I get it to shut up before my online exam next week?

USB device not recognised keeps persisting

Hi,

I've looked everywhere on the internet and I can't find a working solution.

I get the USB device not recognised popup with the usb connect/disconnect sound. At times it's once every few minutes, but other times it's every three seconds. In device manager it's listed as Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). I know
it's none of my USB devices being faulty though as I only have 4 plugged in and they all work perfectly. I haven't plugged/unplugged any usb devices in quite a while, the error just started happening. I've tried disabling and uninstalling the device. I tried
restarting pc with all devices disconnected and reconnect them. I uninstalled the Generic USB hubs and restarted. This issue still persists even when I have none of my usb devices connected. I'm not sure if a faulty usb port (with nothing still plugged in)
can cause this issue, if so can I find out which one and disable it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

USB device not recognised

'The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it'

This has just started happening since the last Windows update. The Laptop is fully up to date with the manufacturer's software. Every 2-3 second the warning pops up and the machine makes a warning noise plus the USB connect / disconnect sound.

The only device plugged in is a USB-C docking station which is working normally. There is a USB keyboard / mouse and camera plugged into the docking station.

On device manager there are no yellow warning triangle against anything.

I have uninstalled the USB root hubs and restarted the computer

sfc /scanow has been sun

USB notifications have been turned off in USB settings - this stopes the warning notice but not the continued connection / disconnection sound

Out of ideas now.
