Windows 10: USB Device Not Recognized *Invalid Configuration Descriptor*

I really need your help guys.

A few days ago my USB Keyboard stopped working.

Every time i plug it in, its not recognized, while its fully functional and works flawless on multiple other devices. All i get is

• USB Device Not Recognized *Invalid Configuration Descriptor\*
• Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
• The USB device returned an invalid USB configuration descriptor.

Sometimes, it seems to be recognized, unfortunately after hours of unplugging the keyboard and restarting the PC 20+ times. However, today even this seems to fail.

I already spend 7 hours to fix this issue. I tried every possible solution i could find and nothing works.

From completely resetting my PC, sfc, cleaning the registry, uninstalling driver, devices, changing power options, windows settings for automatic driver updates and what not. Troubleshooting the issue automatically basically does nothing... It says there were issues with the PnP Devices found and thats about it



I dont know what to do anymore... This just doesnt make any sense whatsover.

Invalid Configuration Descriptor prevents USB device from being recognized

Hello,

1. Please read and understand my posts before you reply with a text block.

2. VID: 0x0547, PID: 0x1002

3. The device manager shows: Code 43, Unknown USB Device (Invalid Configuration Descriptor), The USB device returned an invalid Configuration Descriptor.

4. No driver was installed or loaded, so trying to get a new device driver is completely worthless and waste of time.

To repeat myself, I did the diagnostics already and found that the validation of the Configuration Descriptor fails when connecting this device to a Windows 10 PC. With Windows 7 it succeeds. So it is logical that there is a difference between Windows 10
and Windows 7 how the Configuration Descriptor gets validated. Once this issue is resolved I am sure that the device will be recognized and the device driver will be installed and loaded. Only the hurdle of the validation of the Configuration Descriptor has
to be overcome.

Therefore I am now asking a couple of very specific questions. Please answer them. If you cannot answer them yourself, then please get the answer from someone who has more knowledge with these issues.

1. What is the difference between Windows 10 and Windows 7 when it comes to the validation of the Configuration Descriptor?

2. Is there a setting in the Registry, which affects how the Configuration Descriptor gets validated?

3. What steps can be taken, so a Configuration Descriptor, which may not be not 100% compliant, still gets validated?

4. What is not compliant in the Configuration Descriptor as sent by the device? Here is the data again:

On a side note: I tried to search the registry for an entry related to the Configuration Descriptor. However, the registry editor crashed reproducible on several Windows 10 computers when I did that (Hey Microsoft, ****???)

 

Unknown USB Device (Invalid Configuration Descriptor)


Windows 10 Home

Hi, I just bought a new HDD today and freshly installed windows 10 and have ran into this problem: when I plug in my wireless XEOX Pro Analog Gamepad from Speedlink I get the "Unknown USB Device (Invalid Configuration Descriptor)" error. I'm adding the screenshots.

This device worked perfectly on windows 7 yesterday, so the controller definitely isn't damaged physically and it does work on a different PC(windows 7).

Hi

I a have made myself a small gaming device for my flight symulator. device works with Windows XP but when I try to connect it to my new laptop it shows:

"The USB device returned an invalid USB configuration descriptor" and information about error code 43

in Windows Xp it is a normal game controler with HID

please help!
