USB sound/midi device not recognized

I have a Technics PR804 keyboard attached to my Windows 10 laptop through USB. I've installed the drivers that came with my keyboard by entering compatibility mode to Windows ME, but the device manager won't recognize the hardware when it's turned on and
plugged into my laptop. I've seen instructions online indicating that device manager should identify the keyboard as a sound device, and that I should be able to choose folder location for correct driver, but can't complete this step as device manager does
not list the keyboard as an available device.

Any suggestions?

You may receive this error if one of your USB connected devices is not properly recognized by the system. Let's try the troubleshooting steps provided by

In addition, we suggest that you turn off the notifications from the USB by following these steps:

• Open Settings by typing "settings" in Cortana's search box.
• Click on Devices.
• Locate USB and toggle the switch to Off.

"USB Device Not Recognised" Annoying Repeat Notification Banners/Sounds

Windows 10 Pro. When I plug my eCig vaporiser into a USB port to charge it I receive repeated "USB Device Not Recognised" notifications that are rather annoying. In Device Manager I can see that a USB device has an exclamation mark. Naturally, updating
the driver doesn't work because there isn't a driver required in the first place. It's an eCig. Uninstalling the USB device from within Device Manager doesn't fix it, either, because it simply reappears in Device Manager moments later and the notifications
start popping up again.

In the meantime I'm using a normal mains power USB charger, but it would be nice to be able to charge it via a USB port in the future. You would think that Windows would be able to recognise that this is not a 'smart' device, wouldn't you? And not something
that even requires a driver? And that there's no need to keep playing sounds and popping up notifications about the device not being recognised? Bloody annoying ....
