iPhone shown as Unspecified in Devices and Printers

I have a problem with my iPhone 5s/iOS 9.2.1 in Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 10586.71, as shown in the pictures:

    Although everything works OK, i.e.
    • iTunes v.12.3.2.35 recognizes it, backs it up and syncs it
    • I can see its content from Windows Explorer
    • and in Device Manager has the latest drivers for both Apple iPhone & Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

the iPhone is shown in “Devices and Printers” under Unspecified Devices.

Is there any way to fix that?

Any suggestion is welcomed... except from in-place-upgrade - that goes to my dear friend Shawn Brink, he knows why! USB device not shown in Device and dives under This PC , Shown in Device and printers but... :)

iPhone shown as Unspecified in Devices and Printers

    Hi Dimitri,

Not sure if this is a help but my iPhone 6/iOS 9.2.1 shows in 'Devices & Printers' as well as 'This PC' identically to your 2 screenshots.....perhaps that is intentional?

I guess this jars on you (it does with me*Sad). I would like to see it suitably listed as say 'Portable Devices' or 'Mobile Devices' and displayed with appropriate custom iconsUSB device not shown in Device and dives under This PC , Shown in Device and printers but... :)

If it transpires that this is correct, perhaps the forum Gurus could suggest how we might customise Windows 10 to display them in a more 'visibly appealing' format......

    Any thoughts guys???

usb device not recognized (malfunction) - Printer

Hope somebody can help a non-techy here.
I have a canon IX4000 printer, and had been using it without problem. The next day (having touched nothing), I got a USB device not recognized warning, and that it has a malfunction (this is under Windows XP).

    I've tried the following:
    - deinstalling all USB drivers under device manager
    - system restore to several days prior, when I knew the printer was working
    - trying a different USB lead (tested the lead on another device, so know it works)
    - plugged lead into every other available USB port on the computer (front and back).
    - tried plugging it into another computer (comes up with the same malfunction warning)
    - deinstalled the printer drivers, downloaded and reinstalled them.

Nothing I've tried works. I know the printer functions as I can start it up under service mode and print off test pages without problems, but my computer just won't have it. Could it be a hardware failure, and if not is there anything else I can try that isn't listed above?

Really grateful to anyone who can reply. *Smile USB device not shown in Device and dives under This PC , Shown in Device and printers but... :)
