  2. USB devices are overloading and turn off and on randomly and suddenly.

Sure I will try to explain as much as I can. So the problem is always occurring when I am livestreaming. The difference between when I am livestreaming and when I am not is that all my USB devices are turned off when they are usually off when I am streaming. For example, I have a Logitech c920 pro webcam that is never on unless I am streaming, as well as an el gato stream deck. So these things are turned on for when I go live. The problem will occur randomly, but usually after using all my USB devices for a little while like about an hour sometimes 2. What happens is I will be playing a game or something and suddenly, my audio cuts out from my headphones (connected through USB), my camera turns off, as well as all of my other peripheral devices for about 10-15 seconds, then they all begin to come back on slowly. This will often leave my webcam in a state where I need to reconfigure it after it is disconnected suddenly. But that's it. Sometimes the disconnects happen 2-3 times a session, but never too close together.

At first, I thought this was a power issue meaning that I thought the USBs were consuming too much power and needed a powered hub so I bought one and plugged the majority of my USBs into the hub, and a few out that are said to take up lots of bandwidth such as my webcam and a capture card for consoles. The same problem still occurred, which told me it was not the power that was an issue. The next step I took was learning about how USB host controllers can overload because they are being demanded too much bandwidth from USB devices, so I downloaded a USB devices look up application as noted in the posts above which showed that my motherboard (MSI PRO Z690-A wifi DDR4) has 2 USB host controllers, but only one that is made available through my USB ports on my computer. This means no matter the configuration of my USB devices in different ports, they will all be sharing the same bandwidth and can possibly be causing it to overload. Normally a motherboard has a few different USB host controllers assigned to the different USB hubs on a PC in order to split up the usage but this is not the case with mine.

I was told that it could possibly be the BIOs being out of date and once updated there may be improvements to USB stability, but after updating my BIOs to the latest drivers as well as the chipset as recommended, the problem still persisted.

I went on to research more information about my motherboard to see if there were others who were also experiencing the same issue and there were many people who were. In some of the posts I will link, many people have tried multiple different things to try to fix it but there is no solid thing that has been known to solve this problem. Many people said in these posts that the only thing that worked for them and solved the issue was getting an entirely new motherboard. As of right now, that is not really possible for me, and am hoping to see if there might be any known things or fixes, or even a direction I can begin to look in to try to find a fix. Is this a chipset problem? Or is this an MSI problem? A BIOs problem? I have no idea.

It seems to me that the users who post this problem have had issues across different models of motherboards but the one consistency is the Intel Z690 Chipset. Does that mean I need to seek help with an intel rep? Is this something that they might need to look into and send an update for? I have no idea. I am just looking for some type of clarity of what I should do.

Here are the links to the posts I mentioned of others having the exact same issue as me:

  3. USB devices are overloading and turn off and on randomly and suddenly.

    Hello everyone,

Today I am writing about an issue with my USB devices I have been struggling with for a little while now. My USB devices will randomly disconnect and reconnect when I am using all of them at the same time. I am a streamer and I noticed when I stream and all of my USBs are on, sometimes they will all disconnect and reconnect very quickly. At first I thought it might be a power issue with my motherboard so I bought a poweredUSB 3.0 hub and plugged most of my usbs on it because it was separately powered, but that did not help so I ruled it was not power as an issue. The next thing I was able to diagnose was that it must be that my usbs are taking up too much bandwidth from the USB controller and are causing it to overload and turn off and on. A solution I have seen to this is to try plugging in my USBS in multiple different ports to get them on different controllers but that did not work either. I ended up downloading this one application called USB Viewer and saw that my computer only have one USB host controller when normally I have seen that computers have 2-4 different host controllers. I don't get why mine just has one? Is there any way for me to bypass this or to somehow make a different controller within my settings? I don't understand why this problem just randomly started happening when I haven't changed a single thing about my usbs and they would work fine. I know that people recommend to buy a PCIE USB expansion port but I can't really do that with my computer. I will drop a picture below of how everything looks in the USB viewer. Any help would be much appreciated.
