  1. USB devices stop W10 startup

My complacency was shattered with Microsoft's last major updates all of which I've removed from my machine to restore some semblance of normality. I rue the day that I ever installed Update 1703 & 1709.Big Mistake. Compounded by my stupidity in putting up 1803. But I've learned my lesson. No more Updates, fixed in the Registry..Enough ranting.

Now I'm left with a Windows 10 machine that will NOT boot up with any USB3 device installed/attached.Yes I've tried every USB setting in BIOS known to man. ( ASRock Z97 Extreme6 Bios 2.30).

Every time I do try to start the machine with Logitech Wireless Mouse & Keyboard connected via Unify Receiver it gets to the Windows Startup Manager and disables both mouse & keyboard. No. I cannot boot into Safe Mode.

I have to physically remove the wireless receiver, mouse & keyboard and replace the same with wired mouse & keyboard; its just like the 1990s. The machine starts and responds to wired mouse clicks & wired keyboard strokes. If I then put up the wireless logitech mouse & keyboard, and pull the wired, the wireless both work fine until the next reboot. Likewise, I can connect any USB3 or USB2 device AFTER boot up, they are seen and work fine. Any machine start/restart destabilised that machine so it will not reboot until all USB3 devices removed and wired keyboard/mouse are connected.

I believe the culprit is the Universal Serial Bus Connector. Particularly, the Renesas USB 3.0 Driver, I also am concerned at the MS version of USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller 1.0. I've uninstalled, disabled and sworn at them both. No change.

Have I missed something blindingly obvious ?
Has anyone got a fix ?Is this my fault for upgrading from W7 and not doing a clean install ?
Do I bite the bullet, buy an Adata NVME PCIe SSD and reinstall W10 & applications to hope the problem goes away ?

    Thanks for reading
