    USB devices suddenly reports "Disk is write protected". How to fix?


    Hi, I have now 2 USB storage devices NTFS format that suddenly report that they are Write Protected. But they are not. DISKPART says: Current read-only State: YesRead-only: NoCHDSK won't do anything and reports "The disk is write protected.". I use the Tools tab under properties and get same error. I try using the USB device on another computer and get the same error. Is my USB device toast?

    WINDOWS IS SUDDENLY WRITE PROTECTING USB DEVICES

    I AM CURRENTLY USING WINDOWS 10 ON MY HP E-024TU LAPTOP. SUDDENLY IT STARTED WRITE PROTECTING MY USB DEVICES. ALSO WHENEVER I TRY TO FORMAT MY USB IT SHOWS DISK IS WRITE PROTECTED AND DO NOT ALLOW ME TO FORMAT. I AM USING KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY, SO
    I GUESS CHANCES OF ANY VIRUS IS ALSO MINIMAL. KINDLY SUGGEST WAYS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
