    USB doesn't work after trying to decrypt it with BitLocker


    Hi, I found an old USB that was encrypted with BitLocker, so I started the decryption process. It got stuck at 99.7% for an hour and a half, until I finally paused the encryption, took the USB out and tried to format it with diskpart, cleaning it, creating the primary partition and finally formatting it in FAT32 but it didn't work.I've tried to go to the Event Viewer but I don't know where is that log. Help please, thanks.

    Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

    For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'.

    Another option is to use software.

    I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

    I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

    Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

    As a BitLocker user myself, I can definitively say it has zero issues with SSD's. Nor has Microsoft listed any SSD drive issues.

    Also be aware BitLocker decryption is not an instantaneous process and can take anywhere between 20 minutes to a few hours depending on data and size of drive.

    That said, drive decryption does not prevent normal use of drive.
