Windows 10: USB Drive access from Hyper-V machine

Goal:Give Virtual Machine access to a USB thumb drive.I have a Win10 Pro laptop. I loaded Hyper-V and created Win XP Virtual Machine.Windows XP was installed with no issues on the Virtual Machine.When I plug in a USB thumb drive into the laptop, Win10 finds the drive with no issues.When I start the Win XP VM, it does not show the USB thumb drive.I have tried selecting the Settings for the VM, under Hardware, I selected SCSI Controller.Then I select Hard Drive and hit the Add button. This causes the dialog to change giving me access to a couple of parameters.However the "Physical hard disk" opt

Access USB port in virtual machine - Hyper -v

I installed win 8.1 ultimate in VM using hyper -v in windows 10 ent.

But I am not able to access the local resources like usb ports .

the enhanced session on hyper v is enabled but it is greyed out in the guest.

Can anyone help to fix this issue?

Moving Hyper-V to Another Disk

1. Export the virtual machines to the drive where you want to move them (tutorial).
2. When all VMs have been exported, delete them in Hyper-V Manager.
3. When Hyper-V Manager is empty, not showing any VMs, import the previously exported VMs (tutorial). In Option One Step 6 of the tutorial, you need to select Register the virtual machine in-place, or if choosing Option Two in tutorial, select Step 2.

Where is the Hyper V Manager, How to I start it ?

I am trying to setup an XP virtual Machine on Windows 10 Pro.

I followed the steps in Neil Peterson article of 5/9/2016.

System Requirements - done - ok

Install Hyper-V - done - ok

Create a Virtual Switch - skip

Create a Virtual Machine

Create a Virtual Machine with Hyper-V Manager

These steps walk through how to manually create a virtual machine and deploy an operating system to this virtual machine.

Uhhhhhhhhh - this step obviously implies one knows

1) Where the Hyper-V Manager is

2) How to start the Hyper-V Manager

Isn't that odd ?
