Windows 10: USB driver missing and won't install.

Hey all,

My Thinkpad T420 ever since upgrading to Windows Ten has been pretty much a total loss. I've reset the PC multiple times and am still having driver bugs. I keep getting Windows update saying they are pulling my USB drivers and then failing to install them. My USB ports do not work at all. I really need help, I have been googling trying to find a fix and talking to multiple techs who have Thinkpad's and none have had any problems upgrading to Ten. Here's a screen shot of my issues.

Windows 10 installation error 'media driver missing'

Original Title: media driver missing

Installing Windows 10 on an old Lenovo (T61) running Vista:

Made a bootable cd of Windows 10, get 'media driver missing' during installation. Made a bootable cd of Windows 10 single language and I don't get this error but the product code from my purchase won't work during installation. Made a bootable usb of Windows
10 and get the same 'media driver missing' error as before. Thanks.

 

5700 XpressMusic allows to connect to PC only in PC Suite mode, why?

ps: tried to edit the post but it won't let me do it... i've uninstalled PC Suite with PC Suite cleaner and then re-installed and connected the mobile to the PC. it finds the new hardware, loads all the drivers, but still got that NOKIA USB ROM missing driver,
and still can't select the way i want to connect the mobile to the pc

Try to get into the Disk Management window to see if your USB flash drive is there. If it can be reached and has no drive letter then give it one, and try to explore it again. Press windows key+R at the same time, and type diskmgmt.msc and hit Enter to get into the Disk Management window.

I've already tried that thanks though. I'm pretty sure my driver is MIA. And I can't seem to find it anywhere.
