Windows 10: USB drives not in list

Hello -- Not sure if this is connected, but I just update my win 10 32 bit to 2004 -- Now when I go to the system tray icon "safely remove hardware" NONE of the connected usb drives are listed --- Is there a fix for this?

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

There are a couple of reasons why you run into this issue. This can be associated with a corrupted Device Manager. Another possible cause is disconnecting a USB drive immediately without safely removing it from the Notifications area.

need list of usb bootable Operating Systems

I am looking for a good list of operating systems you can run from a usb or dvd.

If not a list, then folks can just post their top picks.

I want these to run from the usb/dvd without installing on the system or getting in the way of the system that exists on the hard drive.
