Windows 10: USB extension board stops working after installing update KB5048667

I purchased my PC a year ago with a USB PCI extension card with 5 USB ports. Its been working fine up to the installation of update KB5048667. Since the installation on 11 December 2024, the USB extension board no longer works. I have tried all the usual; Driver update, deleting all the USB drivers from the Device manager, reboots, moving the USB card to a different PCI slot etc. KB5048667 introduced new drivers for this device.In the Device Manager, I get "VIA USB3 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 Microsoft with a yellow warning triangle on the icon. Problem with power extension board and USB

It is not seriously problem rather a very funny problem. I have an power extension board which I connect my laptop to, because I can also charge my phone with it side by side (USB doesn't charge as fast). The issue is that whenever I connect my iPhone
6S (iOS 9.3.3 if it is needed) to the extension board my laptop gives me that sound which is given when a USB device is connected. This is very funny, but I don't know why this is happening. So anyone if you Microsoft guys have studied the Electricity chapter
in school properly, please answer this. xD

 

USB port stopped working

I had a USB2 port on the front panel that was working for a year but then one day it was not. I uninstalled / installed the device via Control Panel for both of the USB Composite Device listings but it made no difference. I thought it may be a bad connection but everything looked OK. Both ports had power according to a USB digital voltmeter. On the motherboard I moved the cable going to the front panel from one of the USB 2.0 Headers to the other Header & everything worked. At least for a couple months. Now the same port on the front panel does not work again. So I uninstalled / installed both USB Composite Device listings but it made no difference. Under Properties it says they are working properly. In Control Panel I did not touch the USB controllers for either USB 3.0 listing or for the USB Printing Support. The port was working a few days ago but now it is not. The only thing that really happened lately was a Windows 10 Security Update that was installed on 10-27-2022. Could that have changed something? Anything is possible but it seems strange that the same front panel port stopped working no matter which mobo header is used. Could one of my USB thumb drives be going bad & when plugged in is shorting out something on the motherboard? Any ideas & suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

Cannot install Edge extension Translator

Hi,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with installing Edge extension translator. I will certainly help you with the issue.

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps:

• Open Powershell as admin.
• Type: "Get-AppxPackage *pocket* | Remove-AppxPackage" without the quotes this will unsintall pocket. You can try skipping step 3.
  
• Type: "Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}" without the quotes.
  
  this will reinstall all stock apps including the Windows Store
• Now you should be able to install Pocket through the Windows Store.

Note: Replace *pocket* in step 2 with *extensionname* (example: pocket extension).
