Windows 10: USB game controller's are pressing keyboard keys

I have for a while been using my PS3 controller for gaming and it works fine.

But I needed to test out a new SNES controller for a project, and found it was not reading correctly. Or so I thought.

I tested another with same results. Stranger thing is that I have a KIT controller that you make yourself, which is recognised as a "Generic USB controller" which works just fine. So I plugged in my old Logitech dual action controller to test that, as it was working in the past. I was thinking that my new SNES controllers were faulty. But my Logitech was also acting up. The right analogue stick moves the mouse around the screen, other buttons trigger the enter key, tab key, back key ……. and so on. I currently have no modifier software installed that would be doing this. And as I have not used them in a while, I have no idea when it might have happened. A Windows 10 update perhaps? If so, how to fix?


Does Microsoft even look at these posts?

Help Choosing Gaming Keyboard

Hi guys, just found this forum and looks awesome.

I just bought a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard (this one) and I am about 70% satisfied. I am returning it because they sent me the wrong model number, but I think the model number up from this won't be much different.

What I need in a gaming keyboard:

• WHITE Backlit Keys (multicolor is a plus but has to allow white since I basically only use white)
• Anti-ghosting (preferably 10 keys simultaneous)
• Silent Keypress
• $40 to $80 (used is fine)
• Easy-to press keys
• External color a simple black
• OPTIONAL: Low-profile keys (slim, ultraslim)

What do you suggest? I have been searching for many hours and have a few ideas, but there are mixed reviews.

 

Keyboard choices, advice please

Inb4 bumblebee and her massive rants on mechanical keyboards, YES IM GOING MECHANICAL.



The current choice is the Razer Black widow ultimate.

It has a list of things i really want.

• Black keyboard
• Blue LED
• Mechanical switches
• USB port
• USB soundcard built in (for LAN use - not a neccesity)
• Easy to use Macro keys
• Standard key layout - i HATE keyboards where its altered, or the keys are a different size to normal.
• Compact size - keyboards that are three feet wide due to 5 rows of G keys and 12 feet tall due to an LCD are out. this thing has to fit on cramped desks at LAN events.
• Media Keys are a must

Things i dont like

• Price
• Noisy keys - hell they advertise its as loud as a mouse click, that worries me. a lot.
• Media keys are controlled through a Fn key. its ok, but i prefer dedicated keys.

So, does anyone have any alternatives that i can buy in australia, that meet my requirements?


edit: G19 is ruled out due to it requiring external power. so please dont suggest it. (yes, i know its not mechanical - but its a similar price range)
