Windows 10: USB Headphones showing up as speakers but not showing ANY input for the Microphone: SOLUTION

OKAY, this is not a question but a solution.I seen about 35 people having the same problem and I figured it out. At least it helped me1. Go to the speakers Icon on the bottom of your screen.2. Right-click and select "Sounds"3. Got to "PlayBack" and select your USB headset and go into "Properties"4. When in properties select "Properties" again. It should pull up another window. Within this window, select "Details".5. You should see it listed as "Device description" and it may be labeled as "Intel Smart Sound Technology for USB Audio" or whatever it may be.6. Press the Windows button/ Start bu

My headphones not showing up in input or anywhere

After doing these steps to my extent I'm going to list my problems

for the first set it had notice and said I had a Generic Audio driver and nothing beyond that

for the second list of steps under Sound and video Game controllers I only saw two options and both are as Listed: Realtek High Definition Audio and Intel(R) Display Audio, and The Realtek high Definition Audio is something I know is not the microphone that comes from my headphones but from my computer and the other option is something I don't know what is, so I did the step on that one and after doing it there was one option to pick as a other driver and it was the Realtek High definition Audio and after clicking on it , it said that it couldn't start and it was a code 10.

For the third set of steps I don't see my headphone's microphone listed anywhere only the speaker that lets me hear things, but I still did the step on that and restarted my laptop and it changed some names of things.

My System model is: XPS 13 7390 and for the manufacturer is only shows OS manufacturer and that is: Microsoft Corporation

To help us identify the cause of the issue and then find the proper resolution for it, please tell us if you made any significant hardware or software changes on your laptop prior to this issue. Also, can you provide us the steps you have already taken to
try to resolve the issue? In the meantime, follow these steps on how you can enable your playback devices:

• Right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Sounds.
• Under the Playback tab, right-click on the default speakers and select
  Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. Your headphones or speakers should now appear here.
• Right-click the headphones or speakers and select Enable.

USB Microphone not showing up as an input in Windows settings

Okay, a couple things:

1. Thanks for replying quickly, seriously, I appreciate it

2. However, I don't think you read my post in its entirety as I stated "but the microphone no longer was listed as an input device. In fact, it wasn't showing up anywhere anymore."

The microphone just doesn't show up in the list of inputs anymore



Internal
AUX Jack is a virtual mic only used when using Remote Play on Steam and the Oculus Virtual Audio Device is just the Mic on my VR headset.
The USB mic this post is about is plugged in and doesn't show up in this list as you can see.





When it's plugged in, it doesn't show up as an Audio Input or Output device, but in the picture below, you can see that my system is recognizing that the device is plugged in but it's
not showing up as the type of device it should be. (The USB Microphone that is the subject of this post is circled red.)
