Windows 10: USB install

When you get windows 10 USB. Is there much updates to make?

Shoul I install an antivirus wight away, or make the windows updates first?

Windows 10 install problem

My laptop has been stuck at "Upgrading Windows" 40%, installing features and drivers 23% for 24 hours. Anyone know what I can try? I have removed all external devices, reset my wireless a few times, hit various keys and I see no change.

You will get updates for your hardware drives, but all the Windows updates now come as one cumulative update so there usually aren't that many total updates that come through.

Antivirus is installed and enabled automatically with Windows - Windows Defender. I never install any extra permanent antivirus.

 

I usually go to "Settings" then "Update and Security" and update the computer, Then once it's finished I install whatever I want.

 

To add, the USB bootable drive I made just last week using MCT/Media Creation Tool gave me the Creators Update, new Version 1703 Build 15063.0. It didn't take long, maybe 30 minutes, after rebooting for Build 15063.332 to automatically download and install. I then tried the MCT for the DVD .iso creation and same result on the Version and Build.

 

First thing I do after the clean install is make sure the time & date are correct and then make sure Wd & firewall are turned on and I do all this defore I give it internet access.

Then I give it internet access and make sure it is activated and then you are GTG for anything else you want to add or install or update.

And just to add from what Berton said I just did a clean install from the USB MCT I made last month on two PCs and it was version 1703 build also.....And both PCs had SSD drives and it sure was a nice quick install.....I'll never go back to a standard HDD!

 

I always check to see if you have updates available first, then I install everything from Drivers to software's especially the antivirus software though that comes after.
