Windows 10: USB issues causing disconnection/reconnection issues with Mobiles

Hey all,

It's my first post here, so I'll try to be as helpful in my explanations as possible.

Basically I'm running Windows 10 64-bit (free download version) and am trying to use my HTC ONE (m7) with Trinus VR. For the least latency I'm trying to use it through USB tethering. The problem is that my computer keeps dropping and reconnecting to the phone. Plus, even though the phone's USB tethering is on, I'm not getting a 'tethering' connection (only able to explore the file structure).

Now, as far I can tell, according to a google search, most of the problem comes down to the Microsoft USB drivers(? need confirmation on this). I've changed my power options and disabled the "USB selective suspend setting", I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the HTC Sync and HTC SyncManager software AND uninstalled all of the USB devices in the Device Manager.

It will still, on occasion, go through a cycling disconnect and reconnect pattern.

Do you ladies and gentleman have any more ideas that I can try?

LG Quantum stops playing music when using 3.5mm jack

I have had a similar issue to this if my headphones become disconnected and quickly reconnected while playing music. Perhaps yours are shorting out and causing a quick disconnection/reconnection? I'd suggest trying another headset just to be sure, and
then maybe consider a hardware replacement under warranty

 

USB disconnects and reconnects

There have been issues with usb hardware for some devices out there because of the following updates.

- KB4074588

- KB4077675

- KB4058258

Check to see if any of these are installed and uninstall them all and see if that works.
