Windows 10: usb keyboards not recognized by laptop anymore

Windows 11 Lenovo legion 7i laptop keeps saying usb devices not recognized. Happened after plugging in and out a one handed keyboard a few times. Now no keyboard is recognized, keeps saying the usb device malfunctioned. The keyboards work as tested on other laptops.I’ve tried: Every tutorial on YouTubeUninstalling drivers in device managerManually installing drivers from the manufacturer websiteUpdating BIOSupdating driversFully resetting the laptopTrying different usb portsTrying a usb hubChanging the power settings to keeping the usb port to always onSfc/ scannowChanging some setting in rege

USB sound/midi device not recognized

I have a Technics PR804 keyboard attached to my Windows 10 laptop through USB. I've installed the drivers that came with my keyboard by entering compatibility mode to Windows ME, but the device manager won't recognize the hardware when it's turned on and
plugged into my laptop. I've seen instructions online indicating that device manager should identify the keyboard as a sound device, and that I should be able to choose folder location for correct driver, but can't complete this step as device manager does
not list the keyboard as an available device.

Any suggestions?

Laptop Keyboard just failed

It works! just ran dell diagnostics on startup, launching it with the usb keyboard, and it recognized the built-in keyboard! thx to all for the help, especially viper, your suggestion saved the day! *Toast :toast: still i wonder what caused this, just hope it doesnt happen again.
