  1. USB- memory, OK to let it stay in laptop?

    Hello!
Im just learning how to use "backup using File History" and have arranged a USB memory stick as my "File History driver". It works fine so far.

Since this feature often does automatic backups (ex every hour), it seems like a good idea to let the USB- memory stay in place in the laptop for a longer period of time (i have a nice little samsung USB device, it only stands out ca 1 cm, so i hardly notice it when in use).

Now I wonder if this really would be safe to do? Does the USB- device manage well with all the going to sleep, shutdowns and updates, without getting bad? Do i not have to "safely remove hardware" before each time i finish my work or shut the computer down, to prevent the files and USB- memory from getting errors? Or could my computer even reboot from the USB- device by accident, during a windows startup?

Has anyone some opinions or experience in this mattter?

    Thanx!

    BRG/ Örjan.

    :)

  2. USB Memory Stick not recognized by Windows 10

I followed both steps suggested by Anish but still no joy. My laptop 'recognises' the usb by making a sound but fails to open it or even list it.

I'm using a Samsung series 9 laptop with Windows 10 and the USB is Maxwell 8gb.

I've used this same usb before in the same machine with no problems. The connection is obviously good as the red light in the usb comes on but it goes no further.

Hope you can help - there's some crucial stuff on the usb that I need to access.

    thanks.

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
