Windows 10: USB MIC VOLUME TOO LOW

Hello I am experiencing the following issue:I am using a Razer Blackshark V2 X USB headset with my pc.A few months ago I was informed my mic volume was really low in discord, but was able to fix this through discords own boost section.But now I noticed when capturing my own audio it is still low since its taking it directly from my pc and nowhere else.I have tried the following steps:1. I have gone to System > Sound > Input > Microphone and made sure the volume there is 100%2. I have gone below that and clicked "test your microphone," and the highest it shows there is 20%. 3. Is the issue of USB mic "low volume" solved? If not, why not?

There is a long-running issue where lots of USB microphones do not work well on computers with Windows 8 and above (their volume is too low to be useful). The same microphones work fine on Windows 7 systems. I'm assuming this problem doesn't happen in all computers, but I've tested USB mics in various laptops and desktops of different brands and the low volume issue was present in all of them.

Today USB microphones are increasingly more popular, with the big rise in content creation, streaming, etc.

Yet it still seems to me (from a quick recent test, plus googling) that these problems still occur.

How is it possible that this hasn't been fixed? It's been over half a decade.

 

Low Mic Volume in Windows 11

Hi!
My headphone mic volume is very low on Windows 11. Same mic works perfectly fine on my other laptop with Windows 10.

Also, the issue is only with the 3.5mm jack. Same headphone mic works perfectly fine through USB connection. Have tried the same headphones on 3 laptops with Windows 11 and 3 laptops with Windows 10. The issue is only persistent in the 3 Windows 11 laptops and that too, only through the 3.5mm jack. USB works fine. Whereas for Windows 10 laptops, both 3.5mm jack and USB work perfectly well. The laptops I've tested on are from different manufacturers (HP, Dell, ASUS).

After all this, I am 100% sure this is a Windows 11 issue and not related to i. Laptop brand ii. Headphone iii. Laptop ports.

I have already tried the following steps and nothing works as of now

1) Already ran troubleshooter

2) Already updated all drivers

3) Already increased max volume to 100 and the boost level to max

Need resolution from Microsoft for this issue. Many people are facing this issue.

 

Mic boost for default USB mic driver.

I have tried MANY MANY usb micrphones, and every single one that uses the default usb audio driver does NOT have a mic boost (this is pretty much every one of them).

The recording volume is often too low to record low volume stuff, even at max.

Only mics that have their own special audio driver ever actually have a mic boost.

Is there some reason that this can't be fixed? Is it something to do with the usb microphone specification?
