  1. USB microphone with 24bit/sample - Descriptor seems to be wrong

Hi, I'm currently developing a USB microphone-like device that is supposed to support:fs = 48kHzUp to 6 channels24bit/sampleThe USB framework that comes with the hardware supports USB Audio Class 1.0 at full-speed profile. I was able to make it work with 2 channels at 16 bits per sample. However, it fails to operate for anything above that since the Windows USB driver doesn't seem to recognize the settings specified in the USB descriptor.I've pasted the full USB description of my device below with bBitResolution set to 24-bit. I hope anybody can advise me on that.Information for device Bose Ma

    Sample Rate on Microphone

Please note that Windows cannot give your microphone something it does not already have. If your microphone has the ability to select sampling rates, you'll see a control for that on the microphone or in the software that came with the microphone. By itself,
changing a setting in Windows does not change your microphone's sampling rate.

If your microphone can select its sampling rate, keep in mind that higher sampling rates are more processor-intensive and result in larger files (when saved.)

a request for device descriptor request failed

Maybe it's time to step back from the current efforts, and start over. I suggest you read over this excellent tutorial and try all of its steps: [Solved] Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) for Windows 10 - Driver Easy. The one that may provide you with some easy relief is the one where you uninstall the device whose descriptor is failing, reboot, and see what happens when device enumeration recurs during boot-up. If you're lucky, it will fix itself.

How to i change my microphone's sample rate to 16000hz or 8000hz???

    Dear Артур Шайхутдинов

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that you can't seem to change the sampling frequency of the microphone.I would very much like to help you effectively, but I may not be able to give you better advice due to the less information I know. If it is convenient for you, can you share the following information with me:

    • Where exactly did you make changes to the sampling frequency? If it's convenient for you, can you take a screenshot and share it with me?
    • Is the option gray and cannot be selected, or is there only one option at 44100Hz?
    • What brand of sound card is yours?
    • Can you share with me the version number of your current sound driver? You can find your driver in Device Manager.

    • Is your microphone connected to your computer using USB?

The issue may be related to the sound card. You can find your sound card in Device Manager and uninstall it. Then find the latest sound card driver on the official website of the sound card and install it to see how the problem is.

If your microphone is connected to your computer using USB or Bluetooth, find your connected microphone device in Device Manager, uninstall it, and restart your computer to see what happens.

Have you tried using other microphones? Sometimes hardware limitations can also make it impossible to select a sampling frequency.

If the problem is still not solved by the above steps, you can share the recent progress with me in the reply. I will work with you to try other possible solutions to resolve the problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,
