    i am having this new issue with windows 10 2004. my usb mouse will suddenly stop responding. no clicks, no movement. the mouse is still registered as being present by the system, and the mouse's configuration software is able to make changes to mouse's RGB illumination. the touchpad on the system remains functional, perhaps due to it being on the PS/2 bus. I have tried using the devices and printers troubleshooter, but it found nothing wrong. if i unplug the mouse and plug it back in, it works for a little while before the issue reoccurs. my mouse has a replaceable cord, i have tried swapping out the cord, to no effect. i have also tried switching usb ports. that made no difference. I also tried and old usb mouse, and it did the exact same thing as my current mouse. i took the mouse and tried it out on my old laptop, and it worked fine. I am thinking the issue is somewhere in the USB 3.1 drivers that windows uses. my usb uses the MS usb 3 xhci drivers 1.10, andI have never had an issue with the USB before this. issue seems to have started after install of the latest cum update.


    system: MSI GE73 Raider RGB 8RE

    OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 19041.264

    mouse: Steelseries Rival 710

    other mouse tested: Logitech G600 MMO gaming mouse

    other system tested: Toshiba P500-ST6844

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

    Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

    i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.

    Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

    I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

    After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

    I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
    The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

    Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
