I have an HP ef2126wm, Ryzen 5 5500U 8 gb RAM 3200MHz Dual-ChannelA couple of months ago I bought a logitech G102 mouse for my laptop... it worked perfectly until a week or so when suddenly every time I connected it to the USB port completely it wouldn't be recognized by the computer, the same happened to my older mouse. Funny enough, all my pendrives and external HDD are recognized without problem. I found that the mice work perfectly fine when I don't connect them completely like 90% of the connector inserted in the USB port, it's a really hard-to-find sweet spot where it works. I've tried

Keyboard and mouse not recognized after boot-up!

Thanks, but how would I be able to do any of the things that you suggest when Windows is not recognizing either my keyboard or my mouse?

I'll mention that I do intend to purchase a *wired* USB keyboard and mouse today and try them, but I'm not optimistic that they will be recognized by Windows either.

  3. USB Device Not Recognized (Malfunctioned)

Just had this problem recently, a cmos clear corrected it. One item you can check to see is if the bios recognizes anything by loading its "boot from" menu and checking for any USB mass storage listed.

USB Mouse not recognized by windows when I connect it completely, but it's recognized if I connect it ALMOST completely.

    I have an HP ef2126wm, Ryzen 5 5500U 8 gb RAM 3200MHz Dual-Channel

A couple of months ago I bought a logitech G102 mouse for my laptop... it worked perfectly until a week or so when suddenly every time I connected it to the USB port completely it wouldn't be recognized by the computer, the same happened to my older mouse. Funny enough, all my pendrives and external HDD are recognized without problem. I found that the mice work perfectly fine when I don't connect them completely (like 90% of the connector inserted in the USB port, it's a really hard-to-find sweet spot where it works). I've tried reinstalling the USB port drivers. I haven't had the opportunity to try a different mouse nor to try both mice on a different laptop.

When checking on the device manager I found under the tab "Universal Serial Bus controllers" that there are two -2- "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" with the Device Status of

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

A request for the USB device descriptor failed."

Also under the tab of "Keyboards" I found 3 "HID Keyboard Device" with the Location "on Logitech G HUB Virtual Keyboard" and the Device Status of
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

and under the tab of "Mice and other pointing devices" I found a "HID-complaint mouse" with the Location "on Logitech G HUB Virtual Mouse" and the Device Status of

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

as well as a "HID-complaint mouse" with the Location "on USB Input Device" with the same Device Status as the Logitech G HUB Virtual Mouse

Am I having a problem with my USB ports? with my mice? with my laptop in general?

Thanks in advance, whatever other information needed please let me know
