Windows 10: USB not appearing in file manager and marked as unknown device

Have been getting this error for some time now. I have another old USB which does work but for some reason this new one doesn't. I have also had problems with connecting a samsung and also an iphone to this laptop. Just tried it on another computer and it did work.

X800 GTO2 = Unknown Device

I flashed the BIOS on my X800 GTO2 last night and it is listed in the Device Manager as an Unknown Device. Is this normal?

Unknown Drives in Device Manager


I.ve recently noticed that ALL of my computers drives are listed as "Unknown" in Device Manager. I've checked in Properties to upgrade drivers only to be informed that the "best drivers for this device is already installed" against all the drives including HDD's, SSD's and USB drives. the machine runs fine and in Disk Management they are all listed as they should be. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? All hard drives appear in the BIOS as they should.
