Windows 10: USB pen drive 16 gig, showing as 2.25 meg capacity?

Discus and support USB pen drive 16 gig, showing as 2.25 meg capacity? in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; An empty 16 gig 2.0 pen drive is showing as only 2.25 meg, and is impossible to format in Windows.     USB pen drive 16 gig, showing as 2.25 meg capacity?


    An empty 16 gig 2.0 pen drive is showing as only 2.25 meg, and is impossible to format in Windows. I did try out a Linux distro iso (Mint) on it yesterday, but because after burning to the usb stick it had some errors it failed to install correctly in Windows 10, so I deleted it from the usb stick.
    Tried to access the usb stick today, and it is reading as a 2.25 meg stick not 16 gig?
    Any idea why this has happened, and is there a way to fix it please?*Sad

    What does it mean rugged?
    Cuz for the model i suggested it says it is good it is not rugged in a review

    Also, 30mb/s is for usb 3.0.
    25mb/s is for usb 2.0.
    Is that the true speed?
    I have never seen that speed in any usb 2.0 devices.

    Patriot 16 gigs costs more than the kingston i suggested and is 2.0 only (a bit more 30$ with shipping)
    Meanwhile 32 gigs costs 100$
    The kingston i suggested costs 24$ 16gigs (free shipping)

    I want to have a speedy usb and the capacity best would be 16 gigs.
    Price depends, becuase i found a 16 gigs usb for 13$ but speeds 4mb/s
    This is why i am asking, is it true the speed of 25mb/s to this kingston?
    Cuz that would be perfect!

    Don't forget there is a difference between Mbits/s and MBytes/s, by a factor of 16

    USB 2.0 in theory is supposed to run at 480 Mbits/s (same as meaning 30 MBytes/s), but doesn't ever quite reach that speed.
