Windows 10: USB port recognises phone and USB stick, but won't recognise mouse devices

Hello,I use a Lenovo Legion 7, running Windows 11 Pro, and one of my USB ports has abruptly stopped working exclusively with mouse devices. My phone and two different USB sticks seem to be unaffected. This issue seems to be rather specific in the fact it only affects mouse devices on one port, which is why I brought it here.I have tried this with my Logitech mouse and my Wacom Cintiq display tablet, and neither were recognised. In addition, I received the "The last USB device malfunctioned" error. When I checked the issue with the device manager while making sure all my drivers were up to date

• I tried Safe boot (no luck)
• All updates are fine.

All devices work in the second port. It just seems to be that 1 port that only recognises the xbox box controller and phone.

It just wont pick up mouse or keyboard. I'm going to try and see if any external drives will be picked up.

I could just buy USB splitter for the port that's recognising everything , but the problems really racking my brains.

I know that if it was a USB hardware issue , nothing wold be getting picked up at all.

The keyboard worked in the port for a day then just stopped recognising it.

 

USB Device (USB Stick) Not Recognised by Windows 10

1.) I can't run custom USB Check-Disk, because USB Drive (Stick) is not recognised by mine main computer. Computer does not assign any drive letter to this USB Drive when inserted into computer's USB port. To the main computer, the Drive, that we are talking
about, is invisible. (Not completely, registry entries are there!) But at the same time, the same USB Drive is working with no problems, when inserted in-to other computers that I also have.

2.) Running Check-Disk on OS Drive (C didn't turned out any problems.

3.) I remember exactly when this problem with JetFlash 700/730 USB Drive (Series) occurred. I had some memory issues with JetFlash 730 (32GB) stick, so I have run Tran***nd Online USB Recovery Tool. This application did what it should and then it asked me
to remove USB Stick from the computer's USB port, wait for few moments and plug the stick back to the same port. At this point I did a BIG mistake! I removed USB Stick from USB port and turned OFF computer. I didn't plug USB Stick back to computer's USB port
before I turned it OFF. Next day, I have turned ON computer, plugged USB Stick to the computer's USB port but Stick was not recognised anymore. That's all.

4.) I think, to fix this issue, it would be the best to do something with not recognisable USB Drive Registry entry, but I don't know what and how?

Hello auggy! I did what you suggested. I have found greyed-out "USB Mass Storage Device" entry corresponded to not working USB Stick, uninstalled it, plugged back the Stick but unfortunately story is the same (see the snipping below). USB Stick is still
not working. Any new suggestions?

Actually this not working USB Stick is not a big deal, I can use thousands of other USB Sticks instead. But I would really like to find out, why this particular Stick is not working. What is causing that this Stick is not recognised. Actually the whole series
of USB Sticks (JetFlash 700/730 - 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB) is not recognised on my computer, because they are all using the same driver. It would be the best to manually re-install driver for this particular USB Stick series (delete the old one's remains, install
the new one), but manufacturer does not offer drivers at his download page.
