Windows 10: USB Ports disconnecting and reconnecting mouse randomly

Hi!


I've had a problem with my USB ports for a few weeks now. Sometimes the mouse disconnects and then reconnects randomly and then it stops working completely, I fix it by rebooting my laptop everytime it happens. This happens inside games but also while I'm browsing. The first time it happened I tried changing the port but it didnt help, then I switched the ports with my keyboard and it didnt work either but after I switched back the ports and suddenly the keyboard stopped working. It looked like the mouse was haunted or something like whatever port it touched the port stops working. I fixed the issue by rebooting and the keyboard and mouse came back to life. The keyboard has no issues but the mouse is still having seizures to this day.

I then tried using the same mouse with another PC and a macbook and I had no issues. So, I thought there was something wrong with the ports of my laptop, but when I tried a different mouse in the same laptop and also the same ports it worked fine. Now, I am confused about what may be the issue, my mouse seems to be working fine because it works on different systems but my laptop and the ports are fine too because I have used another mouse and evrything seemed normal.

After the first times it happened I updated windows didn't fix problem. Then I tried going to device manager and power management on root hubs and deselecting "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" didn't fix problem. I have also tried going into the power plan and change USB settings to "USB selective suspend setting disabled" didn't fix problem.

These are the things that are listed in my UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS:-

I have not uninstalled anything because I have a question. If I uninstall everything and restart my laptop will they get installed automatically all of them or do I have to download them manually after the restart ? Because if I have to install them manually then I dont know how to do it properly and it would help me a lot if somebody taught me how to do it, but If it is an automatic installation after the restart then I can happily uninstall them.
I have tried every other solution there is online but only thing left is uninstalling these drivers, and I just need the confirmation before uninstalling them.


I dont get it, The issue resolves for some time when I reboot the laptop and It makes me confused, I mean what is the problem here and how does it fixes itself by just rebooting? What is wrong here?

Also, the mouse with the issue is Logitech G300s, And my laptop is Acer Predator Helios 300. Model No.- PH315-51

but yesterday it got worse and both disconnected but didnt reconnect but the lights on the keyboard and mouse where still on.

tried going into the power plan and change USB settings to "USB selective suspend setting disabled" (didn't fix problem). I have uninstalled root hubs and restarted the computer (didnt fix problem). However I didn't uninstall every root hub or USB hub option
because I read that for some people the usb ports didn't work at all after that. I have tried the mouse on a different computer and it works without problems I have also tried different ports and both keyboard and mouse has been connected in the USB ports
on the back and the problem persists.

I read that a windows update (KB4074588) could be the problem but I could not find that update on my computer in the updates section under Programs and features.

I have the same problems with usb ports disconnecting and reconnecting mouse randomly as they have in this old thread that has been locked without having a solution

(It really annoys me that I have to make a new thread when the old one could have been used)

As I said I have the same problem and it came shortly after a windows update 2004 about 1½-2 months ago.

I use my computer as mixed photoediting computer and gaming computer. The problem I experience in both uses of the computer

I have tried to find solutions on the internet to see why this happened in the first place and also I have tried to update various things from USB to Firmware update my motherboard but so far nothing has helped.

I did also try the different suggestions to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and uninstalling Generic USB Hubs and
so on but nothing has helped so far.

It's now the 3rd. mouse I have tried on the system and it has still problems.

2 weeks ago I had a windows crash because of a failed disk where i bought a Windows 10 pro (old system was a Windows 8.1 updated to Windows 10), to see if that would solve anything.

My system runs with the following:

Motherboard ASUS ROG Extreme V (firmware updated a few days ago)


Internal HDD: 2x 500gb SSD

Connected to usb:

1x external hd 2tb

1x usb dock with 2 disks currently docked (for backup purposes after reinstall and datarecovery)

OS: Windows 10 pro

Updated: Build 2004

Mouse and keyboard:

Right now a basic HP keyboard and mouse connected.

Have tried different mouse and keyboard like: Logitec MX1000, and some other noname mouse and keyboard and all have same problem.

When trying to find mousedrivers it just says the newest version is already installed.

It's normally only the mouse that keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. No other devices seems to be affected - not even the harddisks.

I have tried to install Microsoft's own SDK Dev. tools with USB monitoring tools included to see if I could see anything from that but no changes or logs I could use for anything.

Right after installation to Windows 10 pro it started with the same problems so I expect this could be a hardware related problem with the USB on the motherboard and not software related but I'm not 100% sure so
that's why I have opened a new thread with the same problem.

If anyone has any suggestions or workarounds or solutions to this reoccuring USB problem help is most welcome because I can't afford to go and buy new hardware like a new motherboard just to get rid of the problem.

Hi again.

Unfortunately the latest fix only worked for a day and then I had the same problem with the mouse disconnecting and reconnecting. So I tried doing the same and then that didn't work.

Got anymore ideas on how to fix it?
