Windows 10: USB Ports no longer working on Lenovo Laptop

Hello,after booting up my Laptop today, all my usb ports stopped working.There seems to be a problem with the usb drivers. They are all gone in the device manager like USB-Root und Intel xHCI Controller. Just 2 generic USB xHCI Drivers are shown but they are not initialized because of Error Code 37 Objectname already exists. If i connect a smartphone to a usb port at least it is getting power for a few seconds so i know the ports have at least some kind of functionality.The Hardware IDs areCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0ED&SUBSYS_381717AA&REV_20PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0ED&SUBSYS_381717AAP

USB ports no longer work

After recent win 10 updates my USB 3.0 ports have stopped working with the arrival of build 586. USB 2.0 ports work fine and the USB 3.0 carry power but devices on any kind no longer work. I am running a Gigabyte GA-970A-Ds3p motherboard. I have downloaded
the latest USB 3.0 drivers for the board but during the installation process it terminates saying it can't find the ports. Device Manager does not show any yellow warnings or USB 3.0 entries.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

No USB ports working on toshiba laptop

Hi guys,

Got an old Toshiba laptop, satellite l500d pslk0a-00r009
Its old and doesn't officially support win10. However I have it installed and everything works fine except USB. All the ports seem completely dead, plugging in a USB mouse I get no light on the mouse. USB flash drives don't work either. This was previously working under win7.

The issue seems to be I don't have "Generic USB hub" in device manager. Have tried to manually install it using add legacy hardware but it wont take. I have several USB root hub and others listed, but not the generic hub.

Here's what I have tried so far:

Uninstall all USB device in device managers and reboot
Confirmed BIOS is latest version
tried both legacy and compatibly USB mode in BIOS
Download and install generic win10 USB drivers
Disable USB power saving mode
Installed toshiba's service center, no updates available
Ran MS troubleshooter/fixit

I think the next step is to give up, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Resolved Lenovo USB 3.0 Port

Before you count them, you should check if they've all properly been installed. Here is an old example of what might happen if you don't: English Community-Lenovo Community FWIW, my laptop does have two separate "Intel(R) USB 3.10 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.20" devices listed under Device Manager.
