    USB ports not recognising MP3 player and android phone


    My HP Envy recently installed operating systems Windows 11 will not recognise my MP3 player or my Samsung phone when plugged into USB ports. just charges them. I've tried 2 different USB ports, all of them are up to date and "working correctly". I plugged in an external DVD that worked! I tried turning off power saving options. It worked fine on Windows 10.

    Computer no longer recognizes USB mp3 player

    1. It is possible that the mp3 player is corrupted, or has no power. Can you confirm that is not the case???
    2. Have you tested it in other usb ports?
    3. Are other devices working in the same usb ports?
    4. How old is the MP3 device?

    PC restarts when connecting mp3 player

    I have a ipad nano, when I connect via USB, my PC gets BSOD. It never did this before. After much aggravation, I purchased a different mp3 player (another brand) and does the same thing. I tried different USB ports and same issue.

    I have never come across this before. Any idea why my PC reboots whenever I connect any mp3 player to PC?

    What have I tried...
    • different USB ports
    • different mp3 players
    • different local windows account
    • ran "sfc /scannow (yes it did find something but didnt fix my mp3 issue)
    • updated windows

    Anyone with an iRiver MP3 player with USB host port read this!

    Any iRiver MP3 player with USB 1.1 host port will interface with your n95. This will allow you to read and write to the mem card of your phone! So you can u/l sound tracks and d/l your images from and to your MP3 player.

    My H340 is a 40GB version so I have got mass storage attached to my phone.

    If only it was WiFi or Bluetooth as well!!
