Windows 10: USB PRINTER SHOWS AS UNSPECIFIED DEVICE and also as KONICA MINOLTA PagePro in Printers

Hello.


My KONICA MINOLTA PagePro 1250W USB Printer Shows up under Devices and Printers, in Printers, AND inUnspecified.

In Printers, it is set as Default Printer, yet is greyed out.

Device status sez that the device is working properly. It is not....


In Unspecified, it it disguised as a minitower computer, and is not greyed out. InProperties, its Type is Other Devices and there is a question mark next to the name. Its location is On USB Printing Support.

Driver properties sez no drivers are required or have been loaded or are required for this device.

Nonetheless I have installed this printer with the Win 10 Generic KONICA MINOLTA PagePro PS BW Laser Class Driver.

Printer does not print Test Page or anything.


I have power cycled the Printer. I have reinstalled the driver. I reinstalled anew the Win10 OS. I have changed out the USB cable.

My ScanMagic 1200UB scanner does not work anymore either. Is anUnknown Device with a ! beside the icon.

All this mess started with Win10.

Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W Windows 10 printer list?

How do I fix printer access for Win 10?

Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W Windows 10 does not list it in my printer list. It does show up in my Win 8.1 printer list.

Hi,

here is my solution:

1.) DISCONNECT (!) the USB printer cable from the PC

2.) Remove all the PagePro 1350W drivers in the Control Panel/Printers and Printer list

3.) Download the PagePro 1350W driver for Windows 10 on the Konica Minolta's website

(I think it's a Windows 8 driver...) and unpack the zip file

4.) Right click on the setup.exe and click Properties, then select Compatibility, and
select Windows 8, OK

5.) Double click on the setup.exe (start the install process)

6.) When software ask you to choose a port... LEAVE the default LPT1: port (It's so funny in 2016...)

7.) Next, next, next - finish the install process.

8.) Now CONNECT the USB cable to the PC.

9.) In the Control Panel/'Devices and printers' + 'Printers and scanners' (both places!) you can see
TWO PagePro 1350W printers

• KONICA MINOLTA PagePro 1350W

• KONICA MINOLTA PagePro 1350W (copy1)

You have to delete the first one!

10.) Right click on the "copy 1" driver, and Properties

11.) Click on the "Ports' tab, and you can see your PagePro on the list - at one of the virtual USB printerport... Click OK. And it's ready! My PagePro 1350W printer works on Windows 10!!!
