Windows 10: USB->RS232: Access to port 'COMX' denied.

Hello guys,

i have a strange problem with windows 10; communication with arduino, laboratory instruments, network devices no longer go!

it seems as if there is some problem with the serial communication via usb; because all these channels have in common the fact that they are usb-serial converters, but with completely different chips and only them because other usb peripherals do not present problems!

By chance you also find something similar with Microsoft Windows Versione 10.0.18363.720; or do you have any idea what I could do to identify the cause and / or resolve it?

It seems as if some process takes possession of the ports before I open them with the relative application or with a simple terminal program!

I'm going crazy, any advice to not further ruin the day?

serial data transmission through RS232 port between two PC

I need to transmit a data between two pc through RS232 port, give me steps to do that .

 

Access denied to USB ports. Not a authorized user

I tried both methods and neither worked.

In method 1, step 5, "Run as administrator" did not appear.

Method @, I uninstalled the USB controller and restarted. I had the sane problem with access denied.

 

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.
