Windows 10: USB ruined with Media creating tool

Hi dear community I need help with my usb stick, couple weeks ago I got the windows fall update for my pc and I had just a little space on my C drive, so I found out that I can upgrade using my USB, that's what I did and sadly it didn't go well, the installation stopped half away and got a loop (fixed it with clean installation), but since then getting "This disk is write protected" I have tried a lot of methods to fix it without any success.

I used Diskpart, Registry and eausus software, AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard with no solution.

• Are you trying to perform a clean installation or an upgrade on the new computer?

“Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on a different PC”,

Download Windows 10 and check if you are able to create the bootable media.

Cannot create recovery drive or bootable usb using media creation tool

Hi Stuart,

To assist you better with your concern, are you getting an error message upon creating a recovery drive, as well as creating a bootable USB drive? If yes, what's the error message?

In addition to that, have you tried the steps from the following articles:

• Create Windows 10 installation media.
• Create a recovery drive.

Media Creation Tool ruined USB stick

I tried creating a bootable USB using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool last night. It worked great, and I'm done with it. I want to format my USB stick so I can use it again, but the volume appears to have been marked read-only. How can I recover use
of my USB stick?
