Windows 10: USB Security Keys strange question

I have a curious question how do websites support the same security key before you need new usb security key. I mean I understand there meant to last years but I don’t see a website supporting the same security key for 30 years can you. I do understand their hack proof but I would like know if a website requirements would change after all Microsoft Supports FIDO & FIDO 2 the requirements would charge through time I know it’s a strange question seem stupid I asked yubico on social media as well he just called me lame.

Question about USB Security Key

I got a question about the USB Security Key feature. I'm planning to use a USB Security Key to login and logout of my PC. The question is, I have to plug the USB Security Key if I want to log in, what would happen if I plugged it out while still using the
PC. Will I still continue to use it or plugged out the USB will force me to be logged out?

In order to get better clarity on the issue, please let us know:

• When you say “got deleted off usb or usb flash drive is not working either way", are you unable to use USB flash drive on the computer?
• When you say “I don't exactly have a security key", which security key are you referring to?
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer
  Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

I would suggest you to try plugging the USB to a different USB port and check if that helps. You can also try connecting the USB to a different computer and check.



Meanwhile, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

Error: “USB Device not recognized" when you try to access a USB external hard drive except Method 1 & 2 and see if that makes any difference.



A security key is a physical device that you can use instead of your user name and password to sign in. Since it’s used in addition to a fingerprint or PIN, even if someone has your security key, they won’t be able to sign in without the PIN or fingerprint
that you create.​​​



However, if you had configured security key earlier by any chance, you may refer Sign
in to your Microsoft account with Windows Hello or a security key.

That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.
