  1. USB speakers not recognized as new hardware

    Hello,

I had asked an earlier question about my audio issue that has recently come up on my relatively-new Windows 10 machine. This problem has still not been resolved. In spite of the fact the audio returns to normal (or not) randomly each time the computer is restarted, I decided to move forward assuming that there is some sort of hardware problem.

So the PC can't find an audio device? what if I just add one? I bought some brand new USB speakers, and plugged them in. Nothing. No prompt or any indication of the presence of new hardware, and no change to the sound. The Playback tab of the sound menu still reads "no audio device is installed". Every online help I can find says I should go to the Playback tab and select the device, then hit "configure". Unfortunately, since the Playback tab says "no audio device is installed" there is nothing for me to select.

How do I get sound from my computer?

    :)

  2. usb not recognized

    Hello Ethan,

The USB port may have stopped responding after you remove or insert a USB device. When the port is in this state, it no longer recognizes any USB device. Aside from the troubleshooting steps you’ve performed, you can also scan the Device Manager for
hardware changes. Follow the steps below:

    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Click the Action tab.
    • Select Scan for hardware changes and follow the prompts to reinstall the missing driver.
    • Check the USB device if it is already working.

Let us know if you need additional assistance.

  4. USB speakers not recognized as new hardware

    USB only speakers!

Win 10 not recognizing my USB only speakers (NOT on list of Playback devices); I have a universal 3.5mm port that outputs audio just fine (headphones), I get video & audio output via HDMI port as primary, only laptop speakers play when primary HDMI not
used, do I have to have USB + 3.5mm speakers and USB only speakers won't work?
