USB sticks won't open in File Explorer, but they do show up in Disk Manager. In Disk Manager, I get the message:"The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists, close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."I have tried refreshing and restarting, but it doesn't fix the issue. I can't change the drive letter on disks. The ports are fine and not broken; everything else works when I use them.

    :)

USB Not being registered as a Disk Drive.

    Hello Greg,

I have tried all of the suggestions, And only moved up by a tiny step. I do not see it on the Disk Management but instead of it going under Universal Serial Bus Devices it is now under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Though it is being registered as a 'SAMSUNG
    Mobile USB Composite Device'

    Thank you.

Also, It still doesn't show on Disk Management as a 'SAMSUNG Mobile USB Composite Device'.

Installing windows off of a USB stick

    Step By Step from vista:
    From admin cmd prompt

    1. diskpart
    1a. list disk
    2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

Disk management console view is not up-to-date

i dont know how to fix your disk management, but i can fix your partition problems...

open up Command Prompt with admin rights. (Right click, run as admin)

    enter in
    DISKPART
    list disk

then find the Disk number for your Raid array... lets call it number 7 ( you can tell what disk is what by the total size)
    type in

    Select Disk 7
List Partition (will give you a list of all the partitions..)
Select Partition 1 (im assuming you only have 1 partition on Disk 7) repeat this step if you have more partitions.
    ASSIGN

that should get the array up and running ready to use.

    EDITED.

    any problems, post back ^^

Still EDITING *Stick Out Tongue USB sticks don't open in File Explorer, but they are registered in Disk Manager. :p
