    Recently I realised I can no longer use USB storage devices on my Windows 11 pc.On investigating, I realised that the USB storage devices are appearing in "Disk Management", but they don't have a drive letter assigned.When I try to assign one using "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." I get this error:"The operation failed to complete because the DiskManagement console view is not up-to-date. Refresh theview by using the refresh task. If the problem persists closethe Disk Management console, then restart Disk Managementor restart the computer."Restarting has not solved the issue.I tried using Mi

    help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

    Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

    help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

    maybe your USB drive is trying to assign a drive letter that is already taken.

    goto

    start > control panel > administrative tools > computer manager > disk manager

    find your USB drive and assign is a drive letter

    Disk management console view is not up-to-date

    Alright I have finally set up my SSD + RAID 0 array, but I am unable to partition the RAID array or assign a drive letter. *Frown USB Storage devices can not have Drive Letter assigned - Disk Management Console View Is... :(

    Upon assigning a letter I get this message:

    Disk management console view is not up-to-date

    2xHDDs in RAID 0 640 GB
    1X SSD 120 Gb Sandforce 1200
